Can guests RSVP multiple times with the same email?

Can guests RSVP multiple times with the same email?

On public events, guests can submit multiple RSVPs using the same email address. Here is what happens when a guest attempts to RSVP more than once.

Standard events (no invite list)

When a guest submits an RSVP and then tries to register again with the same email, RSVPify presents two options:

  • Edit existing submission: overwrites the previous RSVP with the new information.

  • Create a new submission: adds a separate entry while leaving the original submission unchanged.

The same behavior applies to ticketed events. Guests can choose to edit their previous RSVP or submit an entirely new one.

Events with an invite list

When an event uses an invite list, the option to create a new submission is not available. Guests can only edit their existing submission.

Because only one submission is allowed per invitee, any changes made during the second attempt will overwrite the original RSVP.

Note: If your event has an invite list, guests will not see the option to submit a second, separate RSVP. Only the edit option will appear.

Summary

  • Public event, no invite list: guests can edit their existing RSVP or create a new one.

  • Event with an invite list: guests can only edit their existing RSVP.
