While there are certainly a number of benefits of choosing the option of to have guests who receive email invitations skip Step 1 and proceed directly to Step 2 (e.g. more streamlined experience, mitigates risk guest misspell their name and see error message, automatically pipes in your guest(s) names in step 2, etc.), it's important to understand the consequences. Most notably, these guests will NOT see the Welcome Text (which may have important event details) as the Welcome Text is displayed in Step 1.

Setup > Form Design

The below image highlights how you can select this option when designing your invitation draft:

Skipping the Welcome Text:

Again, while choosing this option provides your guests with a more streamlined experience, guests will not see the Welcome Text (via Setup > Form Design) which may be an issue if you're displaying event itinerary and/or other important details. While there are other ways to provide your guests these details, it's important that event hosts are aware of the consequence of choosing the option to skip Step 1. Note, the same "consequence" is true for events using RSVPify's Unique Passcodes feature. Here is an example of an event that included a lot of important details in the Welcome Text guests see in Step 1. We're this event host to have used Unique Passcodes and/or opted to send email invitation and direct guests to Step 2, they would not have seen these details (everything below the logo in header and above the guest information fields):
