What are merge tags? How do I use them?

Add merge tags to the body of your email and personalize the email campaigns you send.

Updated over a week ago

Merge Tags (or Data Tags) allow you to insert personalized content from your invitees or attendees into the email campaigns you send. The attendee details you collect through your RSVP form or include in your invite list are saved and tied to a unique label, called a merge tag.

Adding a merge tag into RSVPify's email builder allows you to include the invitee's first name, last name, title, confirmation code, seating assignment, password, appointment date and time, or you can even list all guests in a group so all names are included in the invitation.

How do merge tags work?

Your attendees contain details specific only to them. Each attendee information corresponds to a unique merge tag. When you insert a merge tag into your email campaign, the system will replace the tag with the content stored in the corresponding audience field.

For example, to include your invitees' first name in your email invitation, you would place the {first_name} merge tag in your email builder where you want your invitees' first name to appear. When your invitees receive the campaign, they'll see their first name where the merge tag was placed.

What merge tags can I add?

Here are the data fields that can currently be merged into your email:
