My guest(s) can't RSVP. Help!?

Guests are saying that they are having trouble reaching your RSVPify RSVP or otherwise are trying to RSVP unsuccessfully. Why?

Updated over a week ago

On rare occasions, a guest may report trouble submitting their RSVP or reaching your RSVP's URL. In such cases, please refer to the following troubleshooting tips:

Most Common

  1. Ensure that your guest is entering the correct URL of your RSVP. A small typo can make all the difference. If your guest is sure they submitted and RSVP and received a confirmation, it's possible that they RSVP'd to another user's event with a URL similar to that of your event.

  2. Are guests seeing the error "Sorry, we couldn't find your invitation. Please double-check your last name for a typo, and try again."? See this support article.

  3. Your (less tech-savvy) guest may mistakenly be performing a Google search (or other web search) for a URL instead of entering the URL directly into the address bar of their web browsers? Please note that Google does not index all RSVPify events, and URLs should be entered into the address bar, and not searched for using Google or another search engine. If entered correctly, you will be directly navigated to the RSVP form, with no search required.

  4. Occasionally, a less tech-savvy guest may mistake the URL for an email address and try to send their response as an email. Ensure that your guests are putting the URL into a browser's address bar, not sending an email. RSVPify URLs are NOT email addresses, and emails sent to any website URL will bounce.

Less Common

  1. You, the event host, have enabled the 'Limited Capacity' setting. This setting allows you to automatically close your registration once you've reached a certain number of acceptances. If enabled unintentionally, your RSVP may appear as closed to your guests. You may disable this feature in the settings drawer of your ticketing/RSVP block.

  2. If you're embedding your RSVPify RSVP on a 3rd-party website and your guest is having trouble reaching the next step in your form, it's likely that your guest may have an ad-blocker or other plugin enabled that could be blocking RSVPify cookies. Please ask your guest to try their RSVP in a different browser or to disable any plugins that may potentially block certain content types and embedded tools.

  3. You've purchased a custom domain (.com, .net, etc.) and enabled URL masking. If your custom domain has URL masking enabled, the security settings on some browsers will prevent guests from completing the RSVP process. For more information, please see this support article.

  4. Your guest may be purposefully blocking cookies -- or blocking cookies without realizing they are doing so. Most modern websites require the use of cookies to function correctly, and RSVPify uses cookies to allow for the successful submission of your RSVP form.

To solve this issue, please ensure that your browser is accepting cookies OR use a different browser to submit your RSVP. For example, in Safari, go to Preferences > Privacy and choose "Never" for "Block cookies and other website data."

  5. In rare cases, RSVPify's firewall may have detected what it seemed to be suspicious activity -- and may have automatically blocked a user's IP address from access to RSVPify. If you believe your IP address or a guest's IP address may be blocked, please contact the RSVPify Support Team.
